I can hardly believe I am saying this because it feels like just yesterday that we were getting frustrated with waiting for him to come home, but Kaiden has been home for 3 MONTHS!!! It has been the best 3 months of our lives. He is such a blessing!! I am not going to say we haven't gotten frustrated learning how to be parents along the way, but the rewards of getting to be his mom and dad outweigh everything else. He has got to be the cutest, sweetest, most wonderful boy ever!!!
Anyway that's enough gushing. Let me give everyone an update on my sweet boy. Right now, he is starting to walk. He will walk 10 - 12 steps. He gets so excited for himself that when he falls down he waits for you to clap for his accomplishment. It is so sweet!!
We also took him out for his first big outing. We went to the fair. We were a little worried, because he does prefer to be held, but he stayed in his stroller and just looked in awe of everything around him. We just sat back and watched him. We thought he might get dizzy from watching the roller coaster, but he sure did love it. We took him to the petting zoo. Now, he loves to pet and love on our dogs so we were really expecting him to love the petting zoo. We were wrong. He was not impressed with feeding the goats. He would watch me feed the goat, but there was no way he was getting near them without getting upset. I think it is just because he had never seen one before. I think next year when he is older he will like it a lot more. We did get him to touch several animals, but he still wasn't overly impressed. I will post pics of that later when I get them downloaded.
We do have one special day coming up next week. Next Friday, my baby will be 1!!!!!
We are having a cookout for his party out near a playground. We are actually going to do his Tol celebration the next day in a more quiet setting with just the grandparents. Now, just to make sure he was ready for his birthday, I recently made sure that durig his cousin's party we stood right behind her while they were singing, "Happy Birthday" so he won't get scared next week. Anyway, he bounced up and down in my arms during the whole song because he loves music and then when we clapped and said "Yeah", he started clapping louder than everyone else and said, "Aah." It was absolutely adorable. We all wish we had been filming it that day. The other thing I was worried about was whether or not he would even eat cake and icing. So he actually tried some. At first he tried to spit it out like he does with everything new,but then when he actually got a taste of the icing he just opened his mouth wide waiting for the next piece. He got unhappy when I said we had had enough. So my two biggest fears about his party have been solved. I can check that off my list. So now I am off today to finish getting things ready for his party. But first I just want to say again, Happy 3 Months Home Kaiden!!!!!

First Haircut
Kaiden got his first haircut yesterday. It was really fun for us to watch. The sweet little girl who did his cut did so well with him and was so patient. I had to hold him the entire time and his head squirmed from side to side so many times, but my baby looks like a sweet little boy. Check out the transformation!!! He is just the most handsome cutest baby in the world!!!

Kaiden's First Day of School
That's right. My boy has officially had his first day of school or daycare whatever you want to call it is fine. I prefer to call it school.
Anyway, I am still off on leave for 3 more weeks, but we decided that we needed to start transitioning him into school. We don't want him to be scared going everyday or upset. We also really wanted him to get to know the workers there and of course vice versa. Well, this Thursday I decided was the big day.
I guess I was more nervous than he was. I just knew he was going to cry and pitch a fit. Maybe I was hoping for it, who knows?? But once again, my darling surprised me. He is such a social butterfly that as soon as I set him down on the floor with the other kids, he was fabulous. He LOVES to play with other kids. It is probably his favorite thing to do.
So I left him for 3 hours that day thinking that he would probably get upset later when he realized I was gone, but no again. They said he just played and laughed with the other kids until he got tired. When I walked in, one of the workers was holding him while he slept. When I reached for him, he smiled in his sleep like nothing had happened.
The next day the exact same thing happened. In a way, I wanted him to really be so attached that he would be extremely upset when I left, but I truly think this is better. So far he actually likes to go!!! I guess I couldn't have asked for more!!!
Now when I pick him up, he is still all mine and loves on me and wants me above all others. So I think our attachment is still working strong!!! I am so proud of my boy!!! He is just the most wonderful addition we could have ever made to our family!!! We have truly been blessed beyond all measure!!!

WOW!!! Has it already been 2 months??
Yep that's right, it has been two months since we brought the love of our life home. All I can say is it has been a wonderful two months. I know I haven't blogged in a while, so I will catch everyone up on what has been going on the past few weeks.
Well, I am a teacher first of all so naturally it is time for school to start back. But since Kaiden has only been here two months, we felt he needed a few more weeks at home to bond with us and transition slowly to daycare. But as any teacher will tell you the first week of the year is critical for your year to go smoothly so I didn't want to miss it. Well, as a family we worked it out. I have been home with Kaiden for 7 weeks by myself and it has been wonderful. He has really attached to me and is just growing more comfortable in his house and with us everyday. His daddy hadn't really gotten the chance to bond with him so he took vacation for one week and my sweet mother-in-law and her wonderful twin sister helped us out for a few days as well. Now, this is the first time I have been away from him for any length of time so I was really expecting tears and my heart to break because I was making him so sad. Naturally, Kaiden surprised me. Since he was still at our house and with his daddy, or his mother-in-law who he knows, he was happy and just did his normal routine throughout the day. Now, when I got home he made me feel better because he reached out and smiled and wanted his Mama but I am still in shock at how wonderful he is doing. Also, he has really bonded with both his daddy and his Grandma Sandy which is a fabuous thing.
So what is Kaiden doing since my last blog???
Well.....
Kaiden is such a happy baby. He will laugh out loud for no reason at all other than to hear himself. The only time he gets upset is when he is in the car to long. So for those fun car rides, we got him a portable DVD player. Kaiden loves his Baby Einstein videos, so now we can take it with him so he will be happy. It has already been such a life saver. He actually enjoys the car now!!
The newest thing he has learned is his own voice. He has recently started screaming. Not a sweet deep scream, but an ear piercing shrill scream. Now, he is not upset just talking, but when we go out in public I am really starting to feel that other people don't appreciate it. But he is just a baby and will grow out of it soon enough, so I am not too worried about what others think right now. He is just communicating. Right????
He is also starting to stand on his own and is walking across the floor with his Step & Ride. It is so cute watching him. He gets so excited and laughs.
Finally, Kaiden has really started dancing. He LOVES music. Yesterday he turned on the big radio and started bouncing up and down to the music. Then, he decided to grab the side of the radio and dance with it. We truly wish we had had the video camera out, but we couldn't quit laughing long enough to get it. Our little boy will definitely put A BIG SMILE ON YOUR FACE!!!
